How to be a Ding-a-Ling

How to be a Ding-a-Ling?!  Maybe it should be "Why I am a Ding-a-Ling?"

This year I have stepping beyond my comfort zone along with getting settled in my new community.  I have so enjoyed being back in Nebraska, closer to family.

I have spent the past year searching for a new church home. In August, I believe God led me to my church home ~ Capitol City Christian Church.  I am attending a wonderful women's Bible class on Sunday mornings.  Great group of prayer warriors and so understanding of my erratic schedule.  Also a love for God and His word.  I am also attending a women's Bible Study on Tuesday evenings.

Now for the step out of the comfort zone.  It has been years since I've sung in a choir or small group.  But with so many churches looking for the "professional" worship team or choir, I have not been in choir.  I can sing and enjoy doing so, but I'm not a sightreader so I have to work on learning the songs.  CCCC has a Christmas Celebration that is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate Christmas and share the gospel.  I attended the celebration last year.  So...I decided to participate this year.  It is definitely a commitment with 14 performances in addition to practices and rehearsals.  Each practice thus far has been a worship experience...not just choir practice.

A week ago I attended the large group choreography practice.  Oh my!  What were my two left feet doing there?!  But I was going to try it.  Well, I think God (after getting a good laugh) decided to have compassion on me.  After a slight twist of my knee on Wednesday and subsequent chiropractic adjustment on Thursday, I thought it probably was not in the best interest of my knee to do crossovers and pivots.

So now I'm a ding-a-ling.  I will help play handbells during the Christmas celebration.  I can count and read music.  No left feet required.  *smile*  Specifically, I am a C# and B ding-a-ling.
