I am studying the book of Jonah via Priscilla Shirer's study "Jonah: A Life Interrupted" in a small group at my church.
Was thinking this weekend about some of the lives God "interrupted" or divinely intervened in for His purpose.
Noah - build an ark
Abram/Abraham - leave country of his fathers
Joseph - to a pit and then to Egypt with time in prison
Moses - a basket, to Midian, 40 years in the wilderness
David - from a shepherd boy to a king
Jonah - go to Nineveh
12 Disciples - follow Jesus
Saul/Paul - on the road to Damascus
These men were in life with a different plan and then God intervened for His plan.
When there is interruption in my life, how am I looking at it? Opportunity? Or Selfishness? Is God interrupting my agenda to remind me of His?
May I think first about God's opportunity before me when I am divinely interrupted.
