Crochet: What to do? C2C!!

What a dilemma!  I like to crochet.  I learned one pattern, but I don't want to make it over and over.  I can't even chain 30 to do a square/dishcloth.  What to do?

Voila!  C2C.  Corner to Corner.

One starts with just a few, three to five, chains and a blanket can grow.

I had a friend whose daughter was expecting.  A great opportunity to make a baby blanket.   But the patterns/videos I see start with a chain.  *sigh*

And then...I saw a C2C video.  !!!!! The answer to my dilemma of the moment.

I have not been able to find that exact video since, but here is a similar video tutorial by a creator that I like.

Chicken Crochet:  The game of having just so much yarn to finish and hoping you'll make it.  Playing chicken with your yarn and crochet project.

I lost. Not enough yarn for 10 more "blocks". *sigh*

Had to set the blanket aside for a few days while awaiting delivery of an additional skein.

Note:  I was doing my own thing.  I learned the stitch and then just made it my own size.  So this was a lesson on buying one-extra-skein-just-in-case because of not using a pattern and doing my own thing.

I used a Red Heart Ombre yarn.  I loved the way the yarn changed colors.  Not me!

And a few days later, a baby blanket!

Lessons learned:
  • When there is a will, there is a way:  C2C
  • Buy more yarn than you think you will need.
  • Keep track of the videos you use; save to a playlist on YouTube.
